How to fold a piece of fabric for a swag curtain scarf valance treatment.

TIP: The softer the fabric the easier it folds. The lace one I did is very soft and I got it on one try! The fabric that I used for this video is a cotton/poly blend and much stiffer and not so easy to fold. I did a dozen videos before I got it right! LOL

Hold the fabric in the center of the length of the fabric with your hands as far apart as you want the swag to be. Starting on one edge of the length of the fabric, hold the fabric tight between your hands. Begin folding upward about 2 inches at a time using your fingers on the front to fold with and your thumbs to hold the tension tight at the top with. Continue to fold until the width of the fabric is all folded. Lay the swag where it is folded over the ends of your curtain rod just outside the rod bracket. Pull the first fold tight and over the top of the curtain rod toward the back and adjust the folds if necessary by gently pulling the fabric folds individually just past the rod brackets starting with the top ones and working down if necessary.
